Bring your Motocross Bikes Soldiers who are coming to Italy don't need to worry about not having a place to ride.
Where to ride: Vicenza and surrounding area is host to over 6 motocross tracks, one of which is Supercross style track and a very large Grand Prix track. Tracks are easy to find and the people that work there as well as the local riders are always courteous and helpful. Check out the Track Maps page Purchase Bike: If you don't own a bike or want to get another one you can also find many great deals on local bikes as well. Prices range from $800.00 up to brand new machines and depending on the exchange rate you can pick up a bike sometimes for $1800.00 cheaper than what you can get it for in the states. Hauling your bike: You have the same options as in the states. You can use a bike Bike Trailer, Van or Pickup to haul your bike to the tracks or usually there is always one extra slot in one of the clubs members vehicles. What about parts: Most gear and parts we mail order from the states, but a lot of items are cheaper locally, especially riding gear and plastics. Some quality mail order companies are Bobs Cycle, Midwestmoto and BTO Sports. Shipping: You are authorized to ship your motorcycle with your household goods to and from your duty stations. It is counted towards your total weight authorized. Inquire at your local transportation office. Come on and enjoy your tour while stationed in Italy and come ride with the club. |
